My Journey
My interest in hypnosis came at the beginning of a divorce. I was an emotional wreck, and I needed help, but the idea of going to a traditional therapist was daunting. My limiting beliefs were deep rooted, and I didn’t have the time to “talk it out.” I had children at home who needed me to be better than ever. So, I made an appointment with a hypnotherapist. I arrived at her office a few days later, and we talked for a few minutes before my session. She gathered some facts and asked me to close my eyes. Her tone was soft and melodic, and I found myself relaxing for the first time in months.
Then she began to count down from ten to one slowly. That’s when I thought to myself; wait, not yet, I’m not even hypnotized! I can hear everything you’re saying; I’m not ready! Great; I thought, I’m never going to get better. But I kept my eyes closed, and I went through the session anyway. At some point between “Wait, I’m not ready,” and “now you can open your eyes.”, there was a significant shift. A monumental change had transpired during that one-hour appointment. I had spent a lifetime stuck in the same old mindset, believing that there was something inherently wrong with me, and in one session, I moved from impoverished to empowered! After that session, I went back for more. I used hypnosis to create self-esteem, quit smoking, find a job, and then I did something even more amazing. I went back to school! I made it my goal to help others create the fast and lasting changes I had made in my life. Today I can proudly say that I have succeeded and that one of my greatest joys in life is being able to witness the profound change that hypnosis makes in the lives of my clients.
